It does not matter whether the email is open in the Outlook for Mac reading pane or in its own window. Select Message > Attachments > Save All from the menu, or press: Command + E. Note: If you're using Outlook 365 for Mac, you will need to use the keyboard combination: Shift+Command+E. Author, teacher, and talk show host Robert McMillen shows you how to auto archive email in Outlook 2016. I recently downloaded Office 365 for my Mac and am fairly happy with it with one major exception. Every email app or service I have used in recent years has an Archive folder. Essentially, I transfer all of my mail to this folder unless it needs further action. Therefore, by inbox becomes a todo list of sorts and when I archive I still have a record of all communications if it is necessary. I don't do this for space reasons as the emails are still saved to my device. This functionality works just fine on my iPhone in Outlook. I can swipe on the desired message and transfer it to the archive. Now my mac is a different story. There is no option to archive a message. There is no access to my archived message folder where years of communications are still stored. I have tried everything I can to just get access back to this folder from my mac and I can't. I see from searching online that the built in export function can save emails outside of the outlook app, in an effort to save space. I am familiar with this as I was once a heavy outlook user in the past. This is not the feature I am looking for. I simply want a button or swipe to move emails to an archived folder and subsequently go back and see said messages. Since this works flawlessly on my phone I don't see why it can't work on the computer as well. Can someone please enlighten me on what I'm missing? You should be able to post pictures. I do it on a regular basis. Indeed, there is no button in Outlook for native support for the built-in Archive folder you have with some accounts. I don't know what type of account you use, but if it is Gmail (the most common one I can think off with an Archive function), it supports it through a non-standard approach that would require coding specifically for it (so I fear MS might be reluctant to do so and take time to support a competitor's function just like that — Outlook for iOS is different since it was derived from another app recently acquired by Microsoft that already supported it). ![]() The easiest I can think of would be to manually move to the corresponding IMAP folder. You might even be able to create a script to do the heavy lifting manually (I use scripts for a lot of things, and assign shortcuts for them through Corentin — MVPs do *not* work for MS Les MVP ne *travaillent pas* pour MS.
